If your shower leaves you knee deep in water, you probably have a problem on your hands. While it might not get quite that extreme, slow running shower drains are a common problem that is really annoying. No one likes to have water collecting around their feet when standing in the shower. So what can be done? Most of the time the problem will be a clog in the drain pipe running from your shower, and depending on the makeup of the clog, it might be more or less complicated to get rid of. The most common reasons for a clog in your shower are hair and soap. Usually it will be a combination of the two that created the clog. In some cases, running very hot water down the drain will be enough to dissolve the soap and make the water flow again, but often more is needed. Using a snake can be very effective, and you can purchase a simple model for a few dollars in a hardware or department store.
